About us

There's a moment that comes round almost every day.

The day isn't over, and neither is the list of things still to do. That's when you want to stop.

We believe in that pause. And we believe the snack that goes with it has to taste properly good and do you good. We won't trade one for the other.

We won't promise you perfect snacks, because there's no such thing. But choosing well takes work. Trends last a season, and what looks good for you often isn't. So we've put that choice in the hands of people who studied for this.

We promise one thing: every snack is chosen by a nutritionist, with you in mind. So all that's left for you is the pause, and the pleasure.

Take it personally.

01Our story

Ricardo Alves, founder of Oh!My Snacks, seated in a blue suit against wooden slats

It all started with a question: why do you pick that snack?

I used to ask everyone this, and the answers were always the same three.

Ricardo Alves, founder

  • “I don't know what's best for me; I just saw someone pick the same.”

  • “I don't have time to look around, read labels or go to the supermarket to choose.”

  • “My snack is my pause, so I want something that tastes good.”

Oh!My Snacks was born for them, in Porto. Today, our boxes arrive at homes in Portugal, Spain and the UK.

02From quiz to your vote

You're the one who decides.

Your side

Before your first box

You tell us what matters to you.

In the quiz, you tick what you look for in a snack and how much of each taste you want. Our nutritionists choose your snacks from your answers.

An example, with snacks from our range.

With every snack you receive

  1. You decide what comes in your next box.

Every snack has a QR code, and you vote with it in your hand. What's not for you won't come back, and the ones you love, you can ask to get every time.

  2. You decide what stays in our range.

Your votes join those of everyone who tastes the same snack, and together they give it a score. When one doesn't win people over, our nutrition team decides whether to improve the recipe and test it again, or make way for another.

03How our snacks come to be

Our side

With your vote, we learn and improve faster.

In the industry

50,000

units before anyone knows what you think.

Then you wait for them to sell, and by the time opinions arrive, it's often too late: whatever didn't sell goes to waste. Shelf space is tight, and a snack has to please everyone.

Here

300

units, and your vote decides whether there are more.

Each square is 100 units.

The test snack

You decide which snacks come to life.

A test snack is a snack that doesn't exist yet. We send 300 of them to 300 different people who, going by their quiz, will want to try it. If they like it, it joins our range. If not, it goes back to be worked on, or it's left out.

A test snack arrives like this, in a wrapper unlike the others.
  1. 1 The recipe: the recipe for a new snack takes shape.
  2. 2 Test packaging: it goes in its own wrapper, which says it's a test snack.
  3. 3 For the right people: 300 of them go to people who, going by the quiz, will want to try it.
  4. 4.1 They like it: the average vote is positive, and the snack joins our range.
  5. 4.2 They don't: the average vote is negative, and the snack goes back to the recipe, to be improved.

04Our nutrition team

Matilde and Mafalda, from our nutrition team, smiling against a pink wall

“Quite often, we develop a snack, or get one from a development partner, that we think will do really well. We send out the test, and the votes tell us no. And quite often, the exact opposite happens.

“The decision is always in the hands of the people who taste it. So yes, every vote counts.”

Matilde de Carvalho, head of our nutrition team
